Trunk Latch Replacement S-XC-S00088

Removal

1. Remove front seat - S-XC-S00283
2. Remove the trunk latch plate bolts (1).
3. Lift up on the portion (2) of the trunk and slide the latch plate out.
   
   
   
4. Remove the cable from the latch by sliding the cable retainer (1) off the post and then remove the cable.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Remove the bolts (1) from the trunk latch plate.

Instalation

1. Install the bolts (1) onto the trunk latch plate. Tighten bolts to 6 N•m (53 lb in).
2. Install the cable onto the latch and secure the cable by sliding the cable retainer (1) onto the post.
   
3. Lift up on the portion (2) of the trunk and slide the latch plate into position.
   
4. Install the trunk latch plate bolts (1).Tighten plate bolts to 6 N•m (53 lb in).
5. Install the front seat.
