Just ordered the bms in a 36s configuration, maybe the 38s later on.
I already installed the new firmware on the bike, something i probably shouldn’t have done.
Getting the bathot symbol while the batteries are cold. The problem occured the moment i installed the mcr2042-4 firmware on the controller.
Would it be possible to send me the hex-files that where on the bike? So i can ride it without having to reboot it all the time until the new bms is delivered.
Firmware that was installed on the bike :
Charger runke 2.1, firmware R8004-42, file 002879-01-EVPS8010.hex
Controller : R2034, file 002882-01-MCR2042-1.hex
ICM : REV 1008 but DIY_1708 didn’ create any problems, installed it a while back.
BMS R24A, file 003316-03-bms24withBootloader.hex
Many thanks, G.
Thx for the info, i will order the bms in a 38s configuration then so that won’t be a problem.
Hi Mateusz,
What electronic rework?
I figured that besides adding 2 more cells, only bms and charger firmware need to be changed to meet the higher voltage. Maybe controller too? Currently i’m running with a bms on cell level, each cell is monitored individually without communication to the canbus. Will upgrade to the latest factory bms as soon as possible, but first want to complete my battery setup.
Without a firmware update my runke 2.1 will never charge the pack high enough. Need to get it to around 156V in a 38s setup.
Maybe it is possible to send a single command to the charger using the cmd-tap in the diag app.
Kind regards,
G
Is it possible to have the 38S firmware added to the forum?
Maybe some cmd files too? Saw a youtube video of Matteo tinckering with the settings, looked very interesting to be able to do it myself, can’t find de xml command files anywhere.
Very nice video’s you guys put on youtube ;o)
Finally got my hands on a canbus adaptor, installed the diag app, it actually runs on a windows 10.
When i start up i get a notice 'Read Dat File Min Cell Voltage Parse Error', then 'Read Dat File Max Cell Voltage Parse Error', then 'Access to the path 'C:\Program files\VectrixCorporation\VectrixDiagnosticsGUI64\VectrixdiagnosticsToolMasterDatafile.xml' is denied', but the application opens and runs.
I installed it because i did a conversion from a LiFePO4 40S pack that has deceased to a 36S Li-ion pack and i have encountered some bizar problems.
Planning to use the original BMS boards, but the strange thing is that the moment i connect a BMS-board to the pack only on + and - side, it starts to heat up decharging the battery. Even with the individual cells not connected i get voltage readings, while they are not connected (?).
With BMS not connected, no readings, only crosses (seems normal) and a correct MC-voltage reading in diag app.
With BMS connected, only with the neg : readings of 6,143V on all cells, MC-voltage still correct.
With BMS connected to both + en - : readings of 5,379 on cells 5 tot 7, the rest of the cells read 0,xxxx, MC voltage drops a few volts and the 4 BMS-boards start to heat up.
Changing the cell min and max voltages freezes the app upon update.
Is the app not working properly with WIN 10 due to notices upon opening the program or am i having a major problem with the scoot? Outdated software or hardware problem? I haven't got a clue for the moment.
BC firmware R8004-42.
MC firmware R2034.
ICM firmware 1008.
BMS R24A.
Any advice much appreciated...
It’s a 36s20p conversion with 18650 cells, starting from a li+ base 42ah, voltage of 146v, no actual trouble codes, no yellow wrench. Only low cell warning because bms isn’t connected to modules yet, flashing red battery because of this. Have to get me a canbus adaptor to change parameters from lifepo4 to li-ion chemistry, probably do the software upgrade to 36s firmware. Temp sensors are connected and working.
Reverse works fine, forward movement no real power.
Throttle sensor position test reads 43 kph on odo, so should be fine.
I’m having trouble with my VX-1.
Forward movement is very slow, doesn’t move a lot, reverse is normal.
Executed the above procedure, speedo doesn’t reach 120 kph, barely 50 kph during procedure, rear wheel barely moves.
With rear wheel off the ground, so no load speedo reaches 30 kph, with rear wheel on the ground it barely moves.
Is it possible that i’m missing a phase due to a blown fuse?
Thanks in advance.
G
Is the picture above for using original bms-boards in 36s setup instead of 40s setup right?
I'm doing a similar conversion with samsung INR18650-25R cells.
Great resource this forum ;o)

How do you guys get your parts with the webshop down?
Would like to purchase some bits and pieces but with webshop down very difficult to get
