Low Power after replacing ESD Charger with Runke Charger

SimonH 7 years ago updated by Anna Falkowska (Sales Manager) 7 years ago 1

Hi all,

I just replaced my ESD Charger with a Runke charger, because the old one died.

Some of you may be aware that I had some strange behaviour with droping power after riding about 15km. That was solved with a newer Firmware of the ESD charger and the reprograming of the Motor Controler. Sadly though somehow the ESD charger survived the new MC only for about 2 days, than went off with flash! I still don't know what exactly died. I guess the output Voltage was still fine. I mean, I was able to ride with full power.

Just when I connected it to the powerplug, the fuse for that powerplug in my house went out. Anyway I was told to replace the charger with a Runke gold, because they fit better to my 40S-LiFePo4 Bike. But now I'm not even able to drive... max speed I got this morning was about 30km/h then it started to stutter and the power droped dramatically until it just stood still. when I turned the ger to full-throttle It just stuttered but did not really move. I had to push it back home. Fortunately it was just a few meters.

So, what I have I done wrong when I replaced the charger? I thought the charger comes with the correct Firmware for my bike, if I oder it at the vectrix-part shop. But I have the feeling this is not true.

I really hope I can solve this problem as soon as possible. I'd like to enjoy some of the summerdays on my bike.

Stephan 7 years ago updated by Anna Falkowska (Sales Manager) 7 years ago 3

Dear Vextrix team,

I tried to change the brake fluid for the rear brake . Unfortunalty air came into the circuit. So right now I'm not able to build up pressure again ( using vacuum pump, refill from botton up etc... )

Are there any other tricks / tipps I can use ?

Thanks

Motor Controler and BMS not responsive

SimonH 7 years ago updated 7 years ago 5

Hi Everybody,

Some weeks ago I did a huge mistake by uploading the wrong firmware to my charger.

Somehow and thanks to some guys here and on visforvoltage I was able to fix this. Then I did the next miserable mistake. (Lesson not learned, you may say) I decided to update the firmwares of all the components in my bike, everything went more or less smoothly. Until it came to the motor controler. For what ever reason, the update broke. Since then the MC is unresponsive and even the BMS is offline.

I guess I broke the bootfile on the MC. What would you recomend to fix this? is it easy to low-Level Reprogram the MC or would you even recomend to replace it. If itis to replace which MC should I use? the one with the newer Revision or the one with the older Revision?

Batteriepack: LiFePo4 42Ah

Charger: ESD Silver 1500W

max Speed: 110Km/h

Thanks for your suggestions.

regards

Simon

Buying and Installing VX1 BMS - Universal Battery Management System

dr barrymcmahon 7 years ago 0

So I had 18 nissan leaf packs (36 cells) in my 2007 Vx1 and I've blown one. I have a semi automatic balancing system which I wasn't paying close attention to. So currently I have 34 cells (17 packs) can I buy the 38 cell UBMS and configure it so that when I get one or two more packs I can add them in? Also I'm guessing but can you confirm that the unit fits in the seat space and that it comes with all instructions to connect to the canbus for viewing with the vectrix diagnostics?

Hi

I assume you VX-1 is from 2013? In 2003 we haven't been proucing it yet.

What type of battery do you have - NIMH or Li/LI+

VX-2 startup fail after drop

vector 7 years ago updated by E. K. 4 years ago 7

I've run my VX-2 since 9/2013 with few problems (dash replaced under warranty in 11/2013), except slightly balky startup sequence (learned to roll the throttle slightly in sync with left-right brake squeeze). Last month, bike was knocked over by accident onto right side (throttle side) and hit the right end of handlebar, and now it won't start. All other electrical system items still work - head & signal lights, horn, LCD readout - but bike just won't start. Throttle rotation feels a little squeaky. Removed covers per service manual and looked around, did not see anything obviously broken. Original dealer (Rockridge Two Wheels in Oakland) no longer has expertise to repair. Any thoughts? Try replace right brake switch? Or does that sound like a throttle problem?
